During 2008 Goldmark was actively pursuing the acquisition of properties with potential for mineral exploration activity throughout North America and South America. Goldmark has evaluated properties in Ecuador, Chile, Peru, Canada, Alaska, and California and continues evaluating opportunities.

Goldmark’s aim is to systematically acquire and evaluate strategically located properties with technical indicators of mineral deposits, to which it will add value through further exploration  and development work. It will use a methodical exploration approach, consisting of large scale geological and infrastructure assessment, surface and soil sampling, trenching, geophysics, and drilling.   Goldmark intends to explore and develop gold and  copper  porphyry properties with the potential to become significant resources. Gold prices international are continuing to rise with a two year gain from $440 US per oz to over $800 US. Goldmark forecasts this trend to  continue. The increase in price and the increase in demand for gold and copper, particular in China and India, make gold copper exploration desirable. The company will use a selective and opportunistic approach to build the portfolio of properties both in North and South America.

Projects

  • Iliamna in Alaska, a 318 sq km set of claims with potential for copper porphyry
  • Santa Rosa and Marcelita, a copper porphyry prospect in Central Chile
  • Tocllana, a gold copper prospect in Southern Peru
